Kids’ Cooking and Herb Potting Workshop

Tuesday 4th, Thursday 6th, Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th April
£40.00 per child, various ages
We have four classes scheduled for the two Easter holiday weeks for you to choose from. Each class will give your child the chance to bake proper bread, make something savoury and of course a sweet Easter treat to take home. The session will also take them outside to pot up some lovely herbs to take home as part of their experience getting involved with making food. The classes are run by the lovely and energetic Lizzie Lucas-Clements, assisted by Maddie and Kaly. We are insured and CRB checked. Bring your own apron. Book now.

Micro-workshop on gut health and launch of ‘Fermented by LAB’

Join Alana for an evening of gut health rants, micro-workshops and the chance to taste gut-loving food and drink from her brand new product range, Fermented by LAB. Gut health is a topic that’s becoming hard to ignore, but do you know what it’s all about and how you can take care of yours? Alana will cover the need-to-knows of a healthy gut and tell you how to give it all the love it needs, in the most delicious way possible… through food! You’ll get to flavour your own water kefir and make some mini lacto-fermented pickles (both of which you can take home) and be some of the first to taste and buy products from Fermented by LAB, her new fermented food and drink range. Easy Indian with Surrey Spice

This hands-on session includes a master class on spices, many cups of spiced chai, hands on cooking of five dishes, all recipes and ingredients and a sit down lunch. Mandira, from successful Surrey company Surrey Spice, will take you on a magical journey into the subcontinent and you will be able to explore, adapt and recreate some of her award winning dishes with a dash of your very own style. Spring Flavours from Ozlem’s Turkish Table

Ozlem will guide you through a few traditional, flavoursome Turkish dishes, certain to tickle your taste buds and bring exciting, easy to make, healthy flavours to your spring table. You will get the chance to make circassian chicken in walnut sauce with red pepper flakes infused olive oil (cerkez tavugu), courgette fritters with feta and dill, served with garlicky yoghurt (mucver), filo rolls with cheese and parsley (sigara boregi), zesty semolina sponge cake in light syrup (revani) and Turkish coffee. This four hour workshop will give you some fresh inspiration for feeding your family and children. We’ll come together and share recipes and our top tips on making mealtimes healthy and delectable. To cook together is a sure way of making your weekly task a lot more enjoyable and we will send you on your way with three meals (suitable for freezing) to feed four generously plus a cake and delicious cookies, as well as the recipes to go with them.
