Can you spot the signs of Spring?

Our spring planting starts to make its mark

Despite the cold weather, our fantastic team of gardeners are still working every week to make sure that the garden has something different to see every season. In the Winter months, visitors can enjoy grasses, seedheads and berries.

Heralding the Spring, the first unusual early flowering crocus should be showing from February. We have planted over 1,000 bulbs. Look out for four unusual varieties of crocus – Crocus Chrysanthus Blue Bird, Crocus Barrs Purple, Crocus Vernus Vanguard and Crocus Chrysanthus Herald – in the grassy area near the new benches.  Near The Dome you will see Snowdrops Galanthus Woronowii and a bit later on the very pretty snowflake Leucojum Vernum.

If you are interested in learning about plants or just want a bit of fresh air, exercise and good company come and join the gardening team, Sarah, Sheena and Nicole on a Thursday morning in the garden. For more information, please give Sarah a call on 07795 447703.
