The Medicine Garden Wins The Rural Oscars!

We are absolutely flattered and delighted to announce that The Medicine Garden has won the 2011 Countryside Alliance enterprise Award for the South East of England.

Paul will be attending the winner’s reception at the House of Lords in March when we will also go into the grand final with the chance of adding overall title to this one. There will be ten, enterprise winners competing from all over England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Its fingers crossed all round.

The awards are nick-named The Rural Oscars and are run by The Countryside Alliance Foundation and have been created to champion those that have gone out of their way to bring life into rural communities.

The enterprise award is specifically aimed at enterprise that has breathed new life into the community, where there is passionate commitment from the owner with a different and inspiring concept as well as saving something that might otherwise be lost.

A massive thank you to everyone involved that has helped get The Medicine Garden to the stage it is now especially our valued patrons. We look forward to growing together in the community for many years to come.

Michelle says: “What a great, great idea, this is a true enterprise. A Victorian walled garden has been given a new lease of life as a space for local residents to chill out or enjoy one of the many events held there such as Jazz on the Lawn. Also on site is a café, farm shop and treatment room offering osteopathy and reflexology. I was impressed by the way the Medicine Garden offers so many things at once, but at its core is owner Paul’s “idea of a space of beauty, a place of ‘good medicine’, where people could come and be inspired, relax, play and take some ‘good medicine’ home with them.” What a wonderful use of the countryside, I commend the Medicine Garden to the national judging panel.”
