An evening with Eimear Varian Barry – 10th June 2017

Canapés and cocktails with Instagram star Eimear Varian Barry from 6.30-9.30pm

Who is Eimear Varian Barry?

In four short years, creative entrepreneur Eimear Varian Barry has amassed a following of 78K on Instagram and collaborated with the likes of Jo Malone, Gap, and Pandora.

The evening

Join us for canapés and cocktails in our gorgeous walled garden from 6.30pm followed by a lively and entertaining discussion at 8pm between Eimear and founders Liana Fricker and Sorcha Egan on all things Instagram. This event is the first in our Inspiration Series of talks.

What does your ticket include?

A Scapegrace Gin cocktail on arrival paired with a selection of amazing canapés created by Blid & Hatton Gatherings. Plus an awesome goody bag and, of course, an hour of fascinating insight into how Eimear built her brand in the company of lots of creative go getters like you.

If the one cocktail’s not enough (let’s face it, it never is) there’ll be a bar open for buying additional drinks.

Where to find us

The Medicine Garden is less than 10 minutes from the A3 or just six minutes in a taxi from Cobham & Stoke D’Abernon train station. We have plenty of free parking and are wheelchair friendly. Our address is Downside Road, Cobham, Surrey, KT11 3LU. Find us on Google Maps.

A little bit about us

The Medicine Garden is a beautifully restored Victorian walled garden and creative space in Cobham, Surrey where you can enjoy life’s ‘good medicine’. The back sheds of our garden host a community of independent businesses including a cafe, restaurant, lifestyle store, food studio, art gallery and treatment room. Entry is free and we’re open year round.

No awkward intros, cold coffee and pinstripe suits. is a new breed of network for women who want something different. We’re all about getting together in exquisite surroundings, connecting our amazing tribe in the right way, where we can learn from and motivate each other with new ideas and genuine support for our businesses.

Brainchild of close friends Surrey-born chef Maddie Hatton and Swedish native Helga Blid-Martinsson, Blid & Hatton Gatherings is a unique space that draws on the European tradition of cooking and ‘breaking bread’ as part of everyday life. Formerly an old Victorian seed shed in the courtyard of The Medicine Garden, this light and airy ‘food studio’ hosts cookery workshops, supper clubs and private events.

Distilled in the foothills of the ice capped Southern Alps of New Zealand, Scapegrace is gin reimagined, but handcrafted the timeworn way. The perfect combination of 12 botanicals, passionately blended and patiently batch distilled in a hand beaten, 19th century, John Dore copper pot still to produce a big, fresh nose with pronounced aromatic intensity.

The essential guide to life in the county, Surrey Life is a monthly, glossy magazine featuring exclusive interviews, the best property, homes and gardens ideas, tips for eating out, places to visit, not-to-be-missed events and much more. Look out for the feature on Eimear in the June issue, out on 17th May.
