What is mindfulness and how can it relieve stress?

This Autumn, we’ve got two fantastic new courses from our resident mindfulness teacher, SamMantra.

Finding Peace in a Frantic World – A Practical Introduction to Mindfulness

A new 8 week course based on ‘Finding Peace in a Frantic World’ by the best-selling book and programme by Prof Mark Williams. Through weekly guided meditations, group reflections, breath work and movement classes, learn how to develop your own personal practice. This course is ideal for those wishing to immerse themselves in a weekly mindfulness programme. Discover how to self-regulate your moods and thoughts to help release the stress of modern day living.

FULL COURSE: Course runs on Friday mornings starting from 6th October – 1st December (No classes during October half term)

This programme is open to all and is an ideal follow on for those that have attended SamMantra’s wellbeing classes before.

Mindful Parenting Programme

Learn how to be more present with your children & respond rather than react to day to day stress in family life.

Mindful parenting returns this autumn with a 6 week practical programme, including guided practices, resources and coping tools to help support parents and their families in today’s busy world.

TASTER CLASS: Thursday 21st September, 10.30-12pm

Costs: £20

FULL COURSE: Course runs on Thursdays mornings starting from 28th September to 6th November

Mindfulness teacher, Sam Weerasinghe from SamMantra and Lauretta Cundy, a Coaching Psychologist from Mad About My Life, have been running this programme since 2016.

Covering key topics from stress management and family communications all participants will receive a workbook full of practical exercises and advice to use as part of the course. The course includes mindfulness techniques, practical coping tools, group discussion and home practices to do each week.

Please note, spaces are limited to 10 places on the course. The programme is also not targeted at any age group and supports parents with early school learners and teens.
