The Courtyard Community

Within the courtyard behind the main garden we have established a community of small independent businesses. In addition to the cafe and garden shop there are several other creative businesses with a mix of workshops, studios and retails spaces.

The Hot House Café

It seems the word is out that we serve the best scrambled egg in Surrey as part of our all day breakfast menu. Why not join us for a pot of tea served in our beautiful bone china cups and try our homemade scones and legendary brownies.

The Garden Shop

Come and visit The Medicine Garden shop in an inspirational, walled kitchen garden. Beautiful plants and unique gifts in a relaxing and magical setting.

Make Me Workshop

MakeMe Workshops run modern craft and lifestyle workshops in a beautiful studio at The Medicine Garden. We’re in the original Tool Room where instead of hanging tools you will find gorgeous vintage and designer fabric for use during our workshops. The press call our classes a cross between Kirstie Allsopp (Homemade Home on Channel 4) and the chef Nigella Lawson as we offer the traditional craft workshops and the culinary workshops too. There are also fashion, style and makeup classes! Resolve to learn a new or further an existing skill in 2011. Everything from jewellery making, decorating cupcakes and cakes to feltmaking is on offer. You can even make a full size chocolate shoe! Come and enjoy a fun filled few hours and make something special for yourself or as a gift. We have several children’s workshops for half term and Easter and also have gift vouchers which make the perfect gift! Louise Nason Textiles

Louise Nason is a woven textile designer, specialising in interior textiles. Commissions are taken for window panels and wall hangings. You will also find for sale a range of woven and hand dyed scarves made from fine silk, merino wool and organic cotton. You will find Louise weaving on her floor loom in the Bothy.

Toadstool Parties

We are a collective of young creative people all with a passion for producing beautiful, enchanting birthday parties and events for children.

From our space at The Medicine Garden, we will hold various workshops for children of all ages including our famous ‘Fairy School’ and ‘Pass the Parcel’ scheme. Pop in to see our lovely range of party bag options, cake designs, theming ideas or to arrange a consultation.

Artefacts

Artefacts has a varied selection of antique and vintage garden related items for sale in the stable at The Medicine Garden as well as a fabulous sun dial, a wonderful shaped zinc bath ready to be planted up, a Cotswold stone bird bath and many other interesting and varied things to enhance your garden for the season ahead.

Eyles & Boo

In our workshop at The Medicine Garden, we make accessories from all the wonderful fabrics we have sourced as well as bespoke curtains and blinds. Come and find our seasonal gifts in the garden shop.

The Meeting Room

Available to hire for a half or full day. You can hire it for meetings, small parties or workshops. A designated area of the decking outside the door is included.
